If you’re contemplating about which steak to choose at Texas Roadhouse, you’re not the only one. The dilemma of selecting just one from their famous, delectable steaks is quite common.
That’s why we dined in the nearest Texas Roadhouse, ranked all the steaks that tickled our taste buds, and provided helpful tips on how to order them.
Here are the best Texas Roadhouse steaks ranked based on meat quality, cooking technique, seasoning, and value for money.
Top 8 Steaks to Get at Texas Roadhouse
1. Dallas Fillet
Of all the steak cuts on the Texas Roadhouse menu, Dallas Filet is the most tender steak I have ever tried, and it melts in my mouth.
Steak lovers will agree that Dallas Filet is the best steak Texas Roadhouse offers because it is perfectly seasoned with buttery succulence but does not power the meaty flavor of the steak.
However, it is the more expensive counterpart of the filet mignon. Despite its higher price per ounce, its quality makes it a top choice, particularly when paired with steak fries, mashed potatoes, and sautéed mushrooms.

It is a great steak that can stand up to the best filet mignon at more expensive restaurants and is affordable for discerning diners.
2. Porterhouse T-Bone
The huge 23-ounce Porterhouse steak is what my husband loves at this restaurant. However, despite their beefy flavor, these T-bones aren’t the number-one option because of the bone in the center.
This bone makes the porterhouse steak harder to cook evenly and takes more work with the steak knife. But this T-bone is chock full of beef tenderloin at a great price and delicious when paired with a baked potato.
3. Bone in Ribeye Steak
The bone-in version of the rib eye is 20 ounces and has a better flavor because the bone is still attached to the meat. It can be cooked to order and comes with two Texas Roadhouse sides at a reasonable price.
Even though the bone in ribeye steak may not be cooked evenly, the rich flavor makes up for it.
We recommend ordering Bone-in ribeye in medium rare, with horseradish sauce on the side.
4. New York Strip
The famous New York strip steak is known for being tender and tasty. This sirloin steak is available in an 8-ounce thick or 12-ounce traditional cut with two sides.
Even though it costs more than ordinary sirloin, I find it more tastier. The only downside is that it is less tender than other steaks.

5. Steak Kabob
Kabobs may be different from what you might expect at a family barbeque. It is marinated and cooked to the desired temperature, giving it flavor and texture.
Just like filet medallions, it is cut near the short loin. The kabob also comes with onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, red peppers, green peppers, and the same seasoned rice as the filet medallions.
It is an excellent option if you’re looking for an alternative to a T-bone with various flavors and textures.
6. Prime Rib
Prime rib is a succulent and luxurious cut of meat, larger than ribeye, and is famously juicy and tender. Even though prime rib is often slow-roasted and expensive, Texas Roadhouse offers it at a fair price.
While some parts were not as rare as desired, they had the perfect fat content and were cooked to be both tender and chewy. When done correctly, Texas Roadhouse’s prime rib makes for a delicious meal that won’t break the bank.
7. USDA Choice Sirloin
You can enjoy a delicious sirloin steak with a baked potato at Texas Roadhouse. This cut of meat is well-liked among customers and comes in four sizes (six, eight, eleven, and sixteen ounces) cooked to your liking.
While it is not a filet mignon, this sirloin steak is a cheap way to enjoy a real steak experience and a perfect alternative to the pricey ribeye.
8. Road Kill
Texas Roadhouse’s Road Kill dish is a chopped steak made from various cuts of meat and topped with onions, mushrooms, and Jack cheese . It can be cooked like ribeye or sirloin steaks, too.
“Texas Roadhouse serves some of the best steaks in the country, with perfectly marbled and juicy cuts of beef that will make your mouth water.”– Chef Andrew Zimmern, American Chef
Although seasoned well and juicy, the Chop-Steak feels more like a burger than a steak. We recommend a round steak or a filet mignon for an authentic steak experience.
