Chef Marco Pierre White reportedly made Gordon Ramsay cry. Gordon Ramsay was a young employee of White’s at the time.

Marco Pierre White subsequently recalled the incident, saying, “I don’t know what he’d done wrong, but I yelled at him. Gordon lost it and knelt down in the corner of the room, put his head in his hands, and started sobbing.”

With limited experience, young Gordon couldn’t stand a chance.

He recalled Marco Pierre White as a tyrannical boss who gained three Michelin stars. At one point, he can make everyone shiver upon making contact with him. Until they had a fiery fight that made Gordon Ramsay cry.

Ramsay has since said this was one of the worst moments in his life. He said that he didn’t want people to think that he was weak or had been humiliated. He also said that it taught him how to deal with stress better.

In his new memoir, Humble Pie, Gordon Ramsay portrays Marco, his former 3-Michelin stars-boss, with a bad temper and would often throw things at him [1].

Mario Batali, White’s former protégé, claimed that White once threw a hot risotto pan at him.

In an excerpt published by The Daily Mail, Ramsay describes how he once cried after Marco hurled sauces at him during a service. “He made himself cry,” Marco demurs. “It was his choice.” 

Gordon was young back then and far from being the bad-mouthed Gordon we can see on television today.

He has a soft heart like anyone else that can easily fumble when triggered. It was at that moment when a single sauce that was flown to him made him emotional.
