Salmon is a bit expensive, and finding fresh cuts aren’t easy. Luckily, you can buy frozen portions in shopping stores like Costco any time you want.

You can find the Atlantic Salmon at Costco or other supermarkets near your place. You can order it online if you don’t have time to shop.

Costco’s pricing is a bit overpriced than others but more convenient. Costco offers almost a fresh whole side of farm-raised Atlantic salmon for only about $12.99 per pound. 

So we purchase salmon there in bulk to cut costs on my maritime meals–it is about 3 lbs per package.

Cooking Convenience

Costco’s farmed Atlantic Salmon is boneless and skinless. They advise us to defrost frozen salmon by opening it and storing it in the fridge for 8 to 10 hours. 

But we frequently thaw it quickly by putting it in cold water while wrapping. You can pan-fry, bake, or cook according to your preferred salmon recipe.

The salmon has a delightful flavor; it isn’t at all fishy like some wild salmon, but it is still very flavorful. 

The applewood seasoning we used brought out the salmon’s natural taste without completely overpowering it. 

This salmon holds up well to barbecuing; it is tender and moist without being mushy or crumbly.

We appreciate simply grabbing a portion to thaw and preparing for lunch or dinner. It is also ideal for food safety, storing in the freezer or just in the fridge.
